Three fantastic boys, all waiting to be chosen by families, all waiting to be brought home. That is what we see when we look at our Adoption Assistance grants page. It is our goal this year to see each and every one of these boys who are adoption assistance grant recipients CHOSEN for adoption. To help these boys get a little much-needed attention, we increased the adoption assistance grants for each one of our very handsome, oh-so-wonderful boys!
John – Adoption Assistance Grant of $3,400 AND Waiver of Orphanage Donation Fee
For nearly four years now, we have been advocating for John. John is a long-time resident of our foster care program in Anhui who has lived with the same village for six years. This handsome boy is growing up before our very eyes. He is now a fun-loving boy of twelve and is the oldest boy eligible for adoption from the shared list in any of our LWB programs.
When our volunteer foster care team visited Anhui in October 2013, they took John, his friends, and his foster family out to lunch at a restaurant, where he behaved beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed his lunch and interacting with everyone at the table. Their main impression of John was that he is a happy, generous boy surrounded by friends who love him.
However, John must be carrying some sadness in his heart. He knows that he has been waiting to be adopted for more than six years. SIX years. And in the past several months he has seen his foster sister and one of his closest friends adopted. Surely he must wonder why he has not been chosen. John has had heart surgery and is currently very healthy. He is crazy for music and adores dancing and entertaining everyone in his close-knit village. We feel he would make the most wonderful son!
John’s adoption grant has increased to $3,000. And just as exciting is the news that his orphanage is willing to waive his orphanage donation fee to give him the best possible chance to be adopted!
When Fynn was part of our foster care program, we often heard how he loved to play with his friends. Most of his photos showed him with his foster sister, whom he seemed to adore. As Fynn blossomed in his foster home, his foster mother became more and more connected to him and proud of the little boy he was becoming.
We love seeing Fynn’s playful personality shine through! Please check out this video clip of him playing a game with friends at the orphanage. Fynn is the boy in the red and white jacket gently tapping his classmate on the back when he is told to by our manager (the blindfolded boy is supposed to guess who is tapping him):
In order to attend school, six-year-old Fynn had to return to the orphanage to live. We know he must be missing his foster mom and sister…but hopefully one day we will hear how he is a shining star in a family of his very own!
Victor – Adoption Assistance Grant of $2,035
Victor is four years old and has made great progress in school. He is an active member in class, and his teachers say he is their little helper. Recently, Victor made a new friend, and they often walk to class hand in hand. Victor likes to have fun dancing along to music and playing with toys and balls. In general, he gets along well with others and does well following instructions.
This past month Victor celebrated Christmas by eating apples and making cards for the nannies in the orphanage.
In addition to the LWB Adoption Assistance Grant of $2,035, Victor also has a grant of over $4300 with Reece’s Rainbow! Learn more about Victor from our past blogs:

The Waiting Place…
…for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come,
or a plane to go or the mail to come,
or the rain to go or the phone to ring,
or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil,
or a Better Break or a string of pearls,
or a pair of pants or a wig with curls,
or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting. ~ Dr. Seuss
We hope that these boys are out of the “waiting place” soon!
(If you are unable to adopt but would like to help give these boys an even better chance at being chosen, we are happy to accept donations towards their adoption assistance grants.)
Love Without Boundaries proudly advocates for adoption but is not an adoption agency. We invite you to contact [email protected] with questions about a child we have featured and encourage you to contact your adoption agency for more information about China’s Waiting Child Program.
