Rhys is a three and a half year old boy in both our Anhui foster care program as well as our education program. He is diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality and has had adoption paperwork prepared so that he can be adopted internationally through China’s Waiting Child program.
He has a charming personality. A little shy at times, but he gets along well with the other students in his kindergarten class and in his neighborhood.
Rhys seems to enjoy being active and playing with other kids in the neighborhood – especially playing hide-and-seek with them.
He likes playing with all sorts of different toys and really enjoys ball games.
Not known to be too talkative, Rhys does communicate well. He appears engaging and can express he wants and needs and also follows instructions.
Since joining the LWB education program last fall, Rhys has learned to count to ten and recognizes basic Chinese characters. In the classroom, his favorite activities are playing with blocks, exploring the different toys in the classroom, and expanding his social skills with his classmates.
Rhys has been learning to be helpful at home, cleaning up dishes and at school.
Rhys tends to be a leader, but among unfamiliar kids, he usually keeps a distance from them and watches quietly before joining in.
We have been so fortunate to watch Rhys having fun with his foster family and learning so many things since joining our education program. Hopefully, soon he will join a family permanently through adoption. Please let us know if we can answer any questions for you about Rhys!
