Sophie’s Brilliance
Six-year-old Sophie from Jiangxi has been waiting for a family to call her own since early 2010. When LWB became aware of her availability through the Waiting Children Program, we immediately started collecting bits of information on her from people who have met her and from her LWB reports. Every piece of information portrayed Sophie in one light: ”Bright.”
Everyone’s comments about Sophie…her big eyes, her enthusiasm for life, her kindness and happiness…brought me back to this one word. I think even these few photos of her reflect her bright personality.
She is a ray of sunshine that brightens the day of those around her.
Sophie is helpful in taking care of children younger than herself. She has fun riding an adult size tricycle and even enjoys cleaning the floor! Her caretakers see her blossoming into a beautiful young girl.
She tries not to let her special need hold her back in life, although it can be difficult with her level of activity. Another surgery is pending for Sophie, and hopefully after that there will be nothing to stop her from taking life by the reigns!

What is Sophie’s SN? How old is she? Thanks!
She is just beautiful!!!! What a wonderful smile!!
Has this beautiful child found a home yet? We have been praying and praying for her.
We have learned that an agency has now chosen her as a “special focus” child, and that we are all hopeful she will be officially matched very soon.
I have been trying to lock Sophie’s file since November 1, 2010! I am eager to bring her home and be her mom! Please keep praying for her and for me! My agency is on it, but they still have to find the file.
wonderful. please keep us posted, because i think about this little one almost every day. we just adopted our first this past summer, so we can’t jump back in right now. but this sweetheart caught my heart. i’ve been praying for a great family for her, and for protection and endurance until she finds a home. we’ve seen how those prayers for our son have been answered!!
Is there any update on Sophie’s situation?? I think of her often as well and would love to here good news…
It is our understanding that Sophie has been matched with a family, and we could not be more thrilled!
Yes, she has been matched to me — Finally!!! I hope to bring her home in April. She is the most precious thing in the world to me.
We are so thrilled for you and for Sophie! Please keep us posted on your progress!
Yaaaaay for K! I’ve been praying for this sweetheart ever since her story hit. I’m so glad to hear it.
We’ve been home just over 4 months now and we are doing GREAT! My daughter is an absolute joy! She recently told me in her newly aquired English “I happy” and that her favorite things to do are to “color with mama” and “play with mama.” Our experience of becoming a family has been easier than I ever thought it could be and we are thriving!
K, do you have a blog? I’d love to see how she’s doing
So happy for you both.
i would love to know if you have a blog as well..i would love to follow how sophie is doing!
