Waiting for a Family of His Own

John has been waiting for a family of his own for many years.  In 2005, he entered LWB’s Lu’An foster care program in Anhui province. Although John is particularly close to his foster father, he longs to be adopted and become part of a family forever. He has seen at least two foster siblings chosen for adoption, and you can imagine how he must feel that it has not yet happened for him.

Tickled Pink

So pretty in pink! Leah looks positively rosy one year following her life-changing cleft lip surgery. This smart and gentle nineteen month old is now thriving in Lu’An foster care. Her foster family tells us that she is easy to smile and loves playing with other children. Her confidence absolutely shines through!

Yesterday, Jone and her friend Aitor toured Lu’an, an orphanage where we do both medical and foster care. They first visited the orphanage and then our foster care families.

Lu’an Foster Care Program

LWB volunteer Arlene Howard travels from her home in the U.K. twice a year to Lu’an, Anhui to visit the foster care children in the program there that she coordinates. She is a regular Mary Poppins to the children because she brings suitcases filled with toys and treats.
