I was happy to get these pictures this week that showed different babies, different ages, different expressions with their bottles. Formula is such a basic need for these babies. I want to thank those who help these vulnerable children with such a basic need.
You may remember last year when this beautiful painting of a sweet little girl in China, Li Jia, was in our annual art auction, after which prints were made available to our supporters. In January, one of our volunteers visited the model of this painting.
I have been looking at some of our special individual nutrition recipients from Lu’An and am happy to report on a couple of these children.

I would like to introduce you to a darling baby named Wen. She is in an orphanage that receives support from LWB’s nutrition program.
I have a grandmother (“Grandmommy”) who I loved visiting when I was a girl. We would visit the farm where she and my grandfather lived. I loved riding horses and hearing her stories of when she was a little girl. She helped me make a quilt. What wonderful memories!
Close your eyes and imagine with me a teeny, tiny baby…. a little preemie who came too early. Imagine how the clothing drowns that tiny little body and how long it takes for that tiny mouth to take a feeding.

We recently received an update from the Foshan Shunde orphanage, and I couldn’t believe all the new, TINY little babies there! Out of about 20 babies that we received reports on, nine were under two months of age.
