Today is the long-awaited day for which our Education team has been working so hard. Our four American teachers have arrived safely in Huainan, Anhui for a week of teacher training with LWB’s Believe in Me staff. We recently received a message from them that said, “We survived the huge mosquitos of Shanghai and have finally arrived in Huainan. We can’t wait to meet the teachers and children!” These dedicated ladies gathered in Chicago from all across the country – Florida, Arizona, Wisconsin and Illinios — and traveled the remainder of the long trip to China together.
Having spent countless hours talking on the phone, they have finally met face-to-face. How I wish I were there to meet them all too!
After leaving from Chicago on Friday morning, they finally arrived in Huainan on Sunday afternoon. They said their hotel is beautiful, and they were greeted warmly by the Chinese teachers who had arrived before them. That afternoon, they were invited to a welcome dinner by the Huainan orphanage director.
We can’t wait to bring you the week’s updates and are really excited about the amazing experience these wonderful ladies are about to have! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of making this trip a reality. There is still time to help by making a financial donation to the teacher training fund.
Stay tuned this week as we share more photos and news about the teacher training!
