A Big Thank You to the Hemangioma Treatment Foundation!
Do you remember Iris from Zhang Village Foster Care? As soon as she receives her visa, she will be headed to the United States for surgery. The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation has made all of this possible. Iris’ travel expenses, medical treatment and care will be completely covered by the foundation.
The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation’s mission is to provide treatment to children with hemangiomas who would not otherwise have access to treatment or care. They have treated several hundred patients from countries all over the world. Many of these children could not afford treatment, or treatment in their country was not available.
Dr. Marcelo Hochman, MD FACS is the founder and Medical Director of this amazing foundation. He is one of the world’s leading doctors dealing with hemangiomas. Dr. Hochman has won many rewards, been featured on “The Discovery Channel” twice and authored many publications.
About the time Iris entered foster care, Dr. Hochman’s nurse, Mariah Bywater, contacted LWB about the possibility of helping Iris. Mariah has arranged absolutely everything to ensure that Iris could come to the U.S. for surgery. Iris is expected to stay for 4-6 months and will stay at Mariah’s house. Mariah has been truly amazing!
LWB would like to give The Hemangioma Treament Foundation, Dr. Marcelo, Mariah Bywater and all its doctors and nurses a HUGE thank you for changing one little girl’s life forever!
