A Grant for Grant
Introducing Grant, LWB’s newest Adoption Assistance Grant recipient!
Grant is a sweet and curious eleven-year-old boy who has just entered our foster care program in Shantou. This handsome boy may look familiar to some of you as he was in our Believe in Me orphanage school in Shantou for the past six years prior to its closing. We would love to see Grant find his forever family in 2015!
Currently, Grant lives with a foster family experienced with older children, and he has a younger foster brother, Quinn, who also attended our Believe in Me school. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Grant has previously had surgery on his Achilles tendon.
Grant is learning new skills quickly. For example, he recently learned how to fold a quilt from his foster mother. His foster mother has quickly found the two things that motivate Grant: positive praise and candy! Grant has been enjoying having a foster brother. He and Quinn love to play hide and seek and tag outside.
Grant is a very active child. He loves to play with toys and build with blocks. He enjoys going to the park and being outside playing. He also likes to listen to music. He especially loves to listen to children’s songs. Grant has a healthy appetite and one of his favorite foods to eat is fish!
When our foster care manager came to visit, Grant talked with her about the other children he knew who had been adopted. He voiced to her that he, too, hopes that one day can have a mother! We hope that 2015 is the year that Grant’s wish of a family comes true.
We are proud to announce that due to a generous donation, Grant now has an Adoption Assistance Grant from LWB for $4,000!
