A Happy Beginning for a New Year!
Here’s a very happy story with which to begin 2011! Some of you might remember hearing about QingQing on LWB’s Facebook page when she was part of our medical program.
In August of this year, we were contacted by a family pursuing QingQing’s adoption. It was such an exciting time, and we waited and hoped to hear the family was approved and that this darling girl would have a family. In September we received an e-mail from QingQing’s mom saying their preapproval to adopt her had been received! The family traveled to China on December 6th to bring QingQing home.
QingQing now lives with her parents, brother, and sister on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. She is an energetic, chatty, and very smart toddler who is nearly three years old. She loves to make KAFEI (coffee) for her mom with her toy kitchen, and to wear her new sparkly silver Christmas shoes. One of her first English words was chocolate, which she loves. She will need multiple surgeries this year, but for now QingQing is a happy girl decorating (and probably undecorating) the Chrismas tree and playing with her siblings.
Her family would like to thank all her sponsors for her medical care and support. We wish QingQing and her family all the best in the new year!
