A letter from a great kid
One of the things I love best about my job as kids’ newsletter coordinator is receiving letters like this from some of LWB’s youngest donors. Bibi and other kids like her have such a heart for helping children in China. All of us at Love Without Boundaries are inspired by these young people who donate birthday money, host lemonade stands, and do all they can to make a difference for children like them in China.
My name is Bibi. I lived at the Deyang, Sichuan orphanage until I was five years old. Now, I live in San Jose, California. I just turned nine on July 22nd. On the Saturday before my birthday, I had my party. I had a kung fu party. Instead of getting presents, I asked my friends to draw a picture for me to keep in my Birthday Memory Book and also to make a donation to support the Nutrition Program at Deyang.
I know that being healthy and strong before you have surgery is really important, because I had my first cleft palate repair while I was living in Deyang. I want to help all the children at the first place I lived to become strong and happy, like my friends and me. And, after the earthquake, I wanted people to help with “regular” things in Sichuan too. At my birthday party, my friends donated $445 to Love Without Boundaries for the kids at Deyang. I have great friends! It was a fun birthday!
Love,
Bibi
