All About Aaron

As I general rule of thumb, I try to stay away from describing children with words that only point out their physical attractiveness. I just want to find something deeper in them and for them to read about themselves in the future, and for them to see something more than a cute face.  But when I saw this photo of Aaron – all I could think was how darn handsome and ADORABLE he is! Doesn’t this four-year-old face just melt your heart?!  I know I cannot be the only one.

This photo also makes it look like he is ultra-talented at decorating styrofoam – with the use of all THREE of his arms. (Of course I am kidding…the third matching arm belongs to another child with a similar size hand and wearing the same color shirt). Aaron is certainly enthusiastic about whatever he and his friend are creating!

Since the beginning, Aaron has been a heartbreaker:

But, as I have learned more about Aaron by reading his reports , I have seen how sweet he can be, how connected he has been to his foster family, how he has persevered and made continual progress.

I also noticed a number of personal similarities or connections with Aaron.

First I noticed he likes author Sandra Boynton – just like the children at my house do.

Next, I saw this picture of Aaron eating what appears to be a chicken wing.

I am from Buffalo, the home of the chicken wing. I think many of us would agree with Aaron that chicken wings are quite tasty!

I learned that he likes to do yoga.

I am always trying to fit a few minutes of yoga practice into my day.

Aaron also reminds me of my own little brother when I read about how observant he is. He is known to point out his nanny’s car or any car that looks just like hers.  My brother always had a particular affinity for such identification of cars. (In case you are curious, my brother used the tires to prove authenticity of a lookalike car).

I read that Aaron gets very excited and animated when he finds something new.  I can just imagine him jumping up and down with excitement, just as my daughter does when she shares with me a taste of something delicious she is eating.

Lastly, Aaron is also described as a good friend.  He will help take his friends to the washroom and often shares his snack.

LWB is offering a $5,000 Adoption Assistance Grant for Aaron. In addition, he also has a $3,500 adoption grant available through another organization.  We hope that this extra assistance will really be helpful for a family working to bring him home!

Aaron has melted our hearts, and we are sure he will do the same to you. Please help us to spread the word that Aaron is still waiting to be matched with a family in an effort to get him into his permanent home as soon as possible.
