An Adoption Grant for Daniel

Daniel has been a part of our foster care program in Sanmenxia for the past three years. We have blogged on Daniel many times, yet sadly he still waits. We are pleased to announce that LWB is now offering a $2,500 Adoption Assistance Grant for the family who ends up adopting Daniel!

Eight-year-old Daniel has been said to enjoy attending school and even taking quizzes! Our Manager shared that Daniel can now “listen to the teacher’s lessons with all of his heart.”

Daniel shared that recently he liked learning about fire safety at school. He even learned what a fire extinguisher is and how it works!

Daniel shared he enjoys spending time with his foster father. They share a special relationship and enjoy going to the park together and playing games on his tablet. Sometimes his foster father will walk him to school. On those mornings, Daniel is said to get up extra early in order to spend more time with him.

Daniel also has been getting up early for “morning exercises” with his foster grandmother. Daniel shared his favorite things about doing the exercises is breathing fresh air and getting to watch what is happening in his neighborhood in the morning.

As you can maybe see from these photos Daniel often squints. This is because doctors feel he has pigmentary retinal degeneration, a chronic, inherited eye disease that can cause severe vision impairment..

Daniel’s foster family has been concerned that his eyesight is growing worse. We would love to see him adopted internationally so that he could receive the care he needs for this condition before it causes severe vision impairment.

Daniel shares a close relationship with Bobby and Shane who reside nearby and attend the same school. The boys have recently enjoyed riding their bikes together as well as playing with each other after school.

We are thrilled to learn that Bobby now has a family working towards bringing him home. We are hopeful that Daniel and Shane will both have the opportunity for adoption in the near future.

Please help us share this blog post and the news of his adoption assistance grant to help us find a family for Daniel!

Love Without Boundaries proudly advocates for adoption but is not an adoption agency. We invite you to contact adoption@lwbmail.com with questions about a child we have featured and encourage you to contact your adoption agency for more information about China’s Waiting Child Program.
