An Adoption Grant for Lilah

Hooray for adoption grants!

Starting this month, LWB will be offering a $3,000 Adoption Assistance Grant for a family that chooses to move forward with Lilah’s adoption.

Just a few weeks ago, Lilah turned thirteen years old. This means that she now has less than one year to be chosen for adoption before she ages out and is no longer eligible.

Lilah has lived with the same foster family in Lanzhou for many years. Her former foster sister, Olivia, was adopted not long ago, and when our China manager visited Lilah recently she brought a message from Olivia’s new family.

Lilah’s eyes opened wide as she saw the letter and photos sent by Olivia’s family, and she was eager to send a message back to Olivia.

Afterwards, she expressed her wish to be adopted as well to our China manager. Sadly, not much time remains for her to have this opportunity.

Born with hydrocephalus, Lilah is doing well and attends school full-time. She is said to get along well with both her teachers and other students and takes her studies very seriously. She is now a group leader in her Chinese language class, and her foster parents are very proud!

Lilah is quite self-conscious about her thin hair. For some reason, it just doesn’t grow thicker or longer than it already is. We do not know the reason for this, but she really doesn’t like to discuss it. She often wears hats, and she especially loved the new hat and scarf set given to her by a generous donor. Pink is her favorite color!

Lilah is so loved by her foster family, but they are unable to officially adopt her. They tell us that she is smart, helpful, hard-working, and willing to help anyone.

Now it is our turn to help Lilah. Advocates and friends, we really need you to spread the word that Lilah has less than one year left before she ages out. Please help share the news about her Adoption Assistance Grant.  Anyone with questions about the grant or Lilah is encouraged to contact our Adoption Advocacy Team at adoption@lwbmail.com.

Because every child deserves a permanent family!

Love Without Boundaries proudly advocates for adoption but is not an adoption agency. We invite you to contact adoption@lwbmail.com with questions about a child we have featured and encourage you to contact your adoption agency for more information about China’s Waiting Child Program.
