An Update on Monica
As you may remember, we recently learned that Monica from our foster care program in China has retinoblastoma, a very rare and malignant eye cancer. (Read more in our blog, Urgent Help Needed for Monica).
Monica has just completed her first round of chemotherapy. Thankfully, she seems to have a good appetite and ate almost half a bowl of congee when our China director visited. Our director in Beijing was also happy to see she was still smiling and even laughing at times.
In about three weeks, Monica will begin a second round of chemotherapy treatments.
Unfortunately, doctors are still not sure about whether they can save her left eye, but of course the most important thing at the moment is saving Monica’s life.
We are committed to Monica’s complete healing and would like to ask for everyone’s continued prayers and positive thoughts on her behalf. Thank you to everyone who has already shown their love and concern for this precious girl.
