Auction to Benefit Children at the Kaifeng PT Center
Over 100 orphaned children with cerebral palsy live at the Physical Therapy (PT) Center in Kaifeng, Henan. The center serves the entire province, and orphanages from throughout Henan send their children to the center for healing care.
In addition, a number of children in the local community are served daily by the PT Center even though they do not live there as residents.
As part of their school day, the children in the PT Center make art pieces as part of a comprehensive therapeutic program to help build fine motor skills and a sense of accomplishment.
The children love seeing their new creations, and making crafts is just plain fun!
A variety of special pieces are kept in glass cabinets, and when visitors come, the children can’t wait to get to the cabinets to show them off. The kids are so proud of their handiwork!
This week, LWB is holding an auction on eBay featuring some of these wonderful children’s handiwork. You will see some of these handmade flower and beaded crafts on our chinalwb eBay auction page. How special to purchase one of these crafts and think of the child who lovingly made it!
In addition to the items handcrafted by the children from the PT Center, we are also offering fans handpainted by the mother of one of our managers in China, a quilt handmade by one of our longtime volunteers, embroideries from Hunan (a province known for its needlework), and marionettes among many other items.

Please be sure to check out these items and more and place some bids!
All proceeds of the auction will be used to purchase assistive equipment and therapeutic devices such as wheelchairs and therapy balls for the PT Center, allowing even more children to receive the help they deserve.
