Believe in Us!

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
~ Eleanor Roosevelt

These dreamers at LWB’s Believe in Me Huainan School light up our world with their faces full of hope and joy. They dream of spending the day learning from teachers who have faith in their potential. They dream of playing with their friends in a safe, clean, colorful, stimulating environment. They dream of healthy snacks to fill their tummies. They dream of all the things that they might become in the future if given the chance to stretch and grow and reach their potential.  They dream of families of their own.

Please take a moment to read about a few of these dreamers and see if you might be able to play a part in making their dreams come true….

Chloe literally glows with happiness in the above photo!    She is an outgoing girl who enjoys playing balls and typical “boy” toys.  Although her BFF is Kirstine, Chloe gets along well with others.  She and Kirstine enjoy drawing, skipping rope, and sharing meals. Her love of school really shows.  She looks forward to entering the kindergarten-prep class, but needs sponsors to make this a reality!

Mia is a precious four-year-old girl who is new to the program.  When she used to come into the classroom she would cry, but now she looks forward to coming.  She especially enjoys it when other children share food with her and when the teachers play with her.  Mia also loves to play with the toys in the classroom and will put off her restroom break to keep playing while the other kids are out of the room!

Jillian is a teacher’s dream!  She loves to take care of the younger children and help the teachers, even eating lunch with them. This good, gentle girl excels at writing characters and reading texts.  Jillian can speak loudly when reciting with other students, but she seems unsure and speaks softly if she answers the question individually or sings independently.  The teachers hope that in the coming year she will gain more confidence and be able to speak louder.

Look at precious two-year-old Jenny, new to the school.  She has recently received cleft lip surgery and is now ready to start learning!  Jenny is excited about starting school no doubt, as she will be given so much love, attention, and social interaction– just what the doctor ordered!

These are just a few of the children who have been waiting for sponsors to pay for their educational expenses.  For $25 a month, sponsors can make these children’s dreams a reality — and demonstrate that there are people in the world who truly do believe in them and their ability to go far!
