Brent: LWB’s Featured Child of the Week
In June, Brent came into LWB’s care needing a colostomy because he was born with anal atresia.
Brent underwent a successful surgery, but while in the hospital doctors found he also has an atrial septic heart defect (ASD). He then developed an infection. After antibiotics and a couple weeks in an incubator, Brent was able to begin eating food. Just over a month after he was admitted to the hospital, he was discharged to LWB’s Heartbridge Healing Home, where he received specialized care.
However, Brent is already back in the hospital because he now has pneumonia.
Brent is four months old and weighs only a little over eight pounds. He is going to need two more surgeries for his anal atresia, as well as likely needing a heart surgery. Unfortunately his medical needs are going to require him to spend quite a bit of time in the hospital.
Brent is in need of sponsors to rally to help him overcome his rough start in life and to help with the cost of the care he is receiving. Your donation in any amount will help. Sponsors will receive updates on Brent’s progress. We thank you for considering being a part of Brent’s team!
