Children’s Day in Cambodia

Yesterday was International Children’s Day, and the students from many of our education programs in Cambodia decided it would be the perfect day to walk through rural villages promoting the rights of children.

In Save The Children’s newest report “The End of Childhood,” Cambodia ranks 117th in the world.  It has one of the highest levels of children excluded from primary education, and far too many children suffer from chronic malnutrition, child labor, and trafficking.

LWB is honored to be working in the rural regions of Cambodia to bring access to education, medical care, and quality nutrition to some truly amazing kids.

Teens from the MERCY youth program helped organize this event.  Kids walked the entire day sharing the message that everyone deserves a safe and secure childhood.

It’s rainy season in Cambodia right now, but thankfully the sun came out to shine on their efforts.

We believe youth can have a huge impact on their communities, and we are celebrating each and every child and teen who took place in this march for childhood.  Hooray for world changers!
