Counting Our Blessings on the Twelve Days of Christmas: Older Kids
On the third day of Christmas, we are remembering all of the older orphaned children who either never had the chance at adoption or who aged out of the system before being chosen. China’s entire culture centers around the family unit, and for children who grow up without ever becoming part of one, their futures are very difficult. Much more needs to be done with vocational training and teaching these wonderful kids how to make it on their own. We loved this photo of beautiful Rebecca, who turned sixteen this year, playing Santa at our holiday party in Huainan. Rebecca is part of our education program, and she loves reading and writing. Everyone who meets her comments on what a kind and lovely young lady she is. Thank you to everyone who helps support the children who will never be adopted. It means so much to them to know there are people who care.
