Danna’s Big Dreams

Several weeks ago, we introduced our community to a remarkable and resilient young woman named Danna.

When Danna was younger, she and her sister were forced to go to a shelter when their mom was unable to care for them, and it was at the shelter that Danna was able to attend school for the first time.  Her teachers soon realized that she was a natural learner and teacher.

Danna’s mother was desperate to be reunited with her daughters, and so despite her poor health, she moved her family to a rural area near Poipet where Danna joined our Impoverished Student Support program. This program allows Danna to continue her education and volunteer with the youth in the villages, where they see her as a role model and mentor as well as an English teacher.

Danna is considering using her gifts to pursue a career in either teaching or nursing. Thanks to our supporters who stepped up to support her education, Danna can now dare to DREAM BIG! Her future is full of hope and opportunity.

This week, DREAM BIG with LWB as we offer our latest limited-edition T-shirt. Profits from the sale of our DREAM BIG apparel will help kids like Danna dare to dream as big as they can.
