Day Six of the 2010 Cleft Surgery Trip
Today was the final day of surgeries. The doctors repaired Jesse’s cleft lip today and several rural children received palate repairs.
As we have seen so many adorable photos throughout the week, we thought it would be a good idea to put the before and after photos together into a gallery so you can see, in one place, what was accomplished this week! These are photos of just the lip repairs since you can’t see a change with a repaired palate but that doesn’t mean those repairs are any less dramatic.
Isn’t that just incredible? There were so many people who played a part in making this Trip such a success but we would like to publicly thank the following:
Drs. John Ness and Cris Martin—two of the most talented, compassionate men on this planet!
Maureen Brogan—LWB Associate Medical Director who organized the whole trip and spent a week away from her family to hug every child for each of us.
Jenn Sayler—a nurse who volunteered to help Maureen and hug the kids as well.
East Alabama Medical Center and South Austin Surgery Center—for their help with surgical supplies.
Our incredible sponsors! Without your support this trip wouldn’t have been possible.
