Diana from Dingyuan

Diana from LWB’s Dingyuan Foster Care Program has recently been adopted after being in our foster care program for nearly three years. She was such a tiny little thing when she first came to our attention.

She spent some time in an LWB healing home before and after she had her cleft lip surgery, after which she entered our foster care program. Diana’s new family says that her foster mother must have worked really hard with her because she can count and she knows many Chinese songs. She understands she needs to tidy up her toys and how to blow her nose. She will even put her dishes in the sink after dinner. She is learning songs in English so quickly now and can sing “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and the “Wheels on the Bus.” She is now learning to count in English.

Diana enjoys watching “Curious George” on television. Her mother found a Curious George toy belonging to Diana‚Äôs older sister and gave it to her. Diana was so happy! The toy now goes everywhere with her.

We are so grateful that we have such wonderful foster families to care for the children in China. Being part of a family makes such a difference to these children when they are adopted. We find that children who have been in a loving foster family environment often adapt quicker in their new forever families. Thank you to all our sponsors who make it possible for us to place children in to foster homes.

We send our best wishes for a lifetime of happiness to Diana and her new family!
