Etan: LWB’s Featured Child of the Week
June was Etan’s first month in LWB’s Zhang Village Foster Care Program. By the looks of things, he is settling in beautifully!
Born prematurely with liver dysfunction, Etan is now eight months old and is thriving under the care of his new foster mother. He sleeps in the big bed with both of his foster parents and is very happy when he wakes up to find them right beside him.
Etan will play very contentedly with his toys if his foster parents are with him, but he complains if they go to leave! One of his favorite things to do now is being carried around the village for tours in the arms of one of his foster parents. Etan can hold his bottle and drop it when he’s finished, and he has mastered the art of holding a piece of slippery watermelon, one of his favorite things to eat. He can pull himself up to a standing position and has learned to say “Mama” and “Baba” already!
Etan still needs several sponsors at $35 per month to support his foster care placement. Sponsors will receive photos and reports each month and will surely enjoy following his adventures as he learns to walk and talk even more.
