Four Children Waiting For Cleft Surgery in China

LWB has been asked to help with four beautiful children in China who were born with cleft needs.  We are hoping to have their operations done before Chinese New Year in February, as travel becomes incredibly difficult the closer it gets.

The three youngest children come from the Kaifeng Physical Therapy Center in Henan. The head nanny from our Henan Healing Home is now the head nanny at the Kaifeng PT Center, and we have done a number of projects with the center. The children here receive excellent care, and we have been pleased to help provide them with orthotics and braces which are very expensive in China.

Beautiful Corine is five months old and was born with unilateral cleft lip and palate.

Kevin is such a cute little guy! He is four months old and has a unilateral cleft lip.

Little 4-month-old Zach rounds out the babies having surgery. He has a unilateral cleft lip and palate.

Big boy Benjamin has already been through cleft lip repair surgery in 2015. However, he was also born with a cleft palate. Cleft palate repair surgery will help Benjamin with his speech development and help to keep him healthy.

Benjamin is three years old and lives with a family in our Xiaoxian foster care program. Recovery from palate surgery can be painful, so we are happy that his foster mom will be able to be with him for comfort during this time.

Each of these four children needs sponsors to help with the cost of their cleft surgeries. Please consider helping these children start their new year in a positive and uplifting way — with their cleft surgeries out of the way!
