Gabe: LWB’s Featured Child of the Week
Ten-year old Gabe attends the our Believe In Me orphanage school in Shaoguan. Described by his teachers as a happy boy, we can see from these photos that it’s true. Gabe has a smile that can light up the room, and he is rarely seen without his famous grin!
Gabe is very sociable and he gets along well with his classmates. Whether working together on an art project, building with blocks, or simply sharing a snack, Gabe loves to interact with other children, and his joyful personality makes him a wonderful friend and classmate.
While Gabe has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a condition which does impact his ability to walk, it certainly does not diminish his bright and determined spirit.
Gabe enjoys attending school and he participates fully in all classroom activities. His teachers report that he is working hard to be independent and takes great pride in his achievements.
In school, Gabe is learning to read and write Chinese characters. He is also working to improve his math skills. He can count, recognize number and patterns, and complete basic addition problems.
But, like many growing ten-year old boys, we think that snack time might be Gabe’s favorite part of the school day. The Shaoguan Believe In Me School is proud to offer a School Nutrition program, and Gabe’s smile seems to shine even brighter when he is getting ready to enjoy a healthy and delicious snack!
Gabe is a gregarious boy with so much potential, and we are so pleased that he is part of our Shaoguan Believe In Me school.
Gabe is in need of sponsors to support his education. With a donation of $25 per month, sponsors will receive regular updates and photos so they may follow his progress and see more of his winning smile.
