Healing Home Hero of the Week: Rambunctious Ruth
Last fall, the bright-eyed Ruth came to stay at our Anhui Healing Home, where her eager-to-learn personality quickly became apparent. Ruth was born with a cleft palate, for which she underwent a successful surgery in late November.
Not even surgery could slow Ruth down. Since then, it’s been nonstop babble and chatter. Her friendly character comes out when meeting new people. Her nanny says she is very expressive and loves to reach out and touch them.
Ruth is steadily getting more physically active. She can rock her baby seat by herself by waving her arms and can even rock it using only one hand. Not only that, but Ruth is extremely quick to catch on and is always happy to learn new things. If there’s something new, she eagerly reaches for it or communicates through babbles and chatter!
What is remarkable about Ruth is her constant flow of communication. She loves to talk, and her nanny feels that Ruth can even understand what she’s saying to her most of the time. Her face gives away clues, and she is always raring to reply back.
Ruth is one of our heroes because she is bold and confident, ready to make her place known, and never lets anything stop her!
