Hidden Treasures
Today we would love to tell you about a wonderful organization called Loaves and Fishes International. They have taken in several of our post-surgery children and a few kids from our foster care program who we knew needed more intensive care. The people who run this warm and caring home are doing such amazing work. They have set up a very special foster home which can care for children long term who have more moderate to severe special needs. You might recognize some of the kids below from our past blogs.
Yi Song, who is currently available for adoption
This summer, LWB sponsored one week of teacher training at Hidden Treasures to thank them for their willingness to care for some wonderful kids who had been in LWB’s medical program. LWB volunteer Carol Mauerman went on this trip and was so impressed with their facility and programs!
Plum and Carson, also both available for adoption
Carol had this to say about Hidden Treasures:
Carol told us that the entire facility was so lovely, and the kids were so well cared for. She wrote: “I just can’t say enough nice things about their caregivers. These kids are so loved!” They are doing such a great job with their on-site school, which is bilingual mandarin/English, with sign language used for those who need it. We were able to provide direction for them on a variety of topics, and the feedback I received from the lead teacher was quite positive. She appreciated all of the intervention ideas, materials, and suggestions.
We still love and care about these precious children who were once in our programs, and we are so grateful and glad that they are in such capable and wonderful hands at Hidden Treasures Foster Care Home. Every child deserves to be treasured!
