At the age of four, Joseph entered our Fuyang foster care program in Anhui in 2007.  Over the past six years, it has been our bittersweet privilege to watch Joseph grow up — bittersweet because we would like nothing more than for him to find a forever family of his own.  His amazingly sweet and happy demeanor and contagious smile make it a pleasure to be in his company.

As a young boy, Joseph had complications from his meningocele surgery.  You can learn more about his special needs here.   However, with the love and support of a very special foster family, he stands proud as ever of all his accomplishments and loves to run and play sports.

If you visit Joseph at his home, he will walk you to his room where he proudly displays his school work. Joseph has always loved attending school, but it has been a long road with many setbacks to find a school where Joseph would be accepted with his special need. He has excellent grades and is especially good at Chinese! He has many friends, loves pleasing his teachers, and his confidence grows each and every day.

Lately, Joseph’s favorite thing to do is football (what we in America would call soccer!)  Every day, he and his foster brother play soccer in their neighborhood.

Over the years that Joseph has been in our foster care program, many LWB volunteers have met him and have loved him.  Everyone has been so touched by his kindness, ready smile, and determination to never give up.

Joseph has seen many of his friends find permanent families of their own, and now we hope it will be his turn. He has waited for many years for a family to call his own. He has known the love of a family, and the pain and heartbreak of losing close friends as they leave to join families of their own. This is a pain and loss no child should ever endure.

Joseph’s orphanage has agreed to a reduction in the required orphanage donation for the family who adopts him!

Let’s all work together and give Joseph his very own miracle, a family of his very own. We hope that a family will be blessed beyond measure to call Joseph their own.

Love Without Boundaries proudly advocates for adoption but is not an adoption agency. We invite you to contact adoption@lwbmail.com  with questions about a child we have featured and encourage you to contact your adoption agency for more information about China’s Waiting Child Program.
