Kennette: Still She Fights On

The name Kennette means ‘extremes’…extremes in fortune, health and spirituality; the bearer of this name is said to either enjoy great success or suffer abject misery.

Born just a few weeks ago, baby Kennette has more than fulfilled the ‘suffering abject misery’ portion of her name…and still she fights on.

Kennette was born with jaundice and ABO hemolytic disease and remained in the hospital after her birth with her birthparents. After a week of treatment, she was discharged from the hospital, and her parents made the heart-wrenching decision to abandon her as they could not afford her medical treatment. They left her at an orphanage with a note explaining their circumstances. And still she fights on.

Within a day of being abandoned, Kennette was again hospitalized with severe jaundice and severe anemia and was deemed ‘critical’…and still she fights on.

At the end of last week, this tiny warrior had a blood transfusion and seemed to perk up a bit, so we are hopeful…while she still fights on.

Baby Kennette has lost so much in her short little life, but we can help her gain—gain health, gain healing and gain the love and support of this wonderful community.
