One Last Post for Luke
For the past five years, we have had the joy and privilege of watching Luke in our Kaifeng foster care program grow up. Sadly, our time with Luke will come to an end this summer as Luke is the only child remaining in our Kaifeng foster care program who has yet to be adopted. At the end of his school year, Luke will return to the Social Welfare Institute where he will attend a new school while he waits to be chosen for adoption.
Over the years, we have blogged and featured Luke many times over the years hoping a family would see Luke as their child and wish to make him part of their family.
Unfortunately, Luke is still waiting, but we hold onto hope that there is a family for him. This lively eight year old boy has kept his foster parents on their toes but has also provided them with so much joy.
Not only has he provided his foster family joy, but us as well! We could always count on Luke to do a silly pose for the camera or do something funny that would make our foster care manager laugh.
Luke is quite the entertainer and is always doing a combination of singing and dancing based on the songs he has learned. He also liked to pretend he was having important conversations on his “cell phone,” just like the adults around him. Luke liked to share with our foster care manager how acrobatic he could be by showing off his flexibility. His signature move however, is to pose giving the camera a peace sign!
We are so grateful to all the sponsors who made it possible for Luke to experience life in a foster family and attend school. We continue to hope that someday soon Luke will be able to experience permanency with a forever family of his own!
Even if you are unable to adopt Luke, please share Luke’s story and help us help him to find a family!
