Spring Festival Scenes
Chinese New Year, the most important holiday in China, is also called Spring Festival. We have been receiving some beautiful photos of how children in our education and foster care programs have been celebrating the spring festival and wanted to share a glimpse into their lives this past week!
Julio is participating in a Spring Festival performance by our Believe in Me orphanage school in Changzhi. He seems to be deeply engrossed in his performance.
New clothing is a traditional gift given to help kick off the new year. William from our Shantou foster care program seems excited about his festive new coat…
while Max and Karis from our Lanzhou foster care program seem entranced by the flock of toy sheep they were given in honor of the Year of the Sheep!
Of course, not all students received sheep or clothing. Bobby from our Sanmenxia foster care program looks mighty pleased with his new toy trucks!
The students at our Believe in Me school in Huainan celebrated through song…
and dance…
making dumplings…
and sharing food with friends.
Although celebrating with a forever family would be ideal, we are happy that the children in our foster care and orphanage schools are able to celebrate this most important of holidays in China in memorable and special ways. Perhaps their next Chinese New Year will be celebrated with their forever families!
