Books to Huainan

As schools throughout the United States shift to remote learning in the wake of COVID-19, teachers and parents have had to find creative ways to engage and educate school children who can no longer be in the classroom. It has been no different for the nannies and caregivers in the Huainan orphanage. Since the children could not return to school after the winter break, their caregivers have been working hard to provide different learning opportunities within the orphanage. In late February, we were asked if we could help purchase an assortment of activity books to help create more variety and stimulation. Of course, we said yes, and the children were so excited when the books arrived.

The Magic of Books

We are working to instill a love of reading into the children of Sokhem Village in Cambodia. Many of these children, who live in homes without electricity and water, have never experienced the magic that is found inside storybooks. Thanks to a kind supporter, we were able to build a free-standing building that will be used as a library and art center.
