Keeping Up With Danny

In a group of photos recently taken at Dingxi, we spotted our darling Danny modeling his festive red jacket, hanging out with the babies and peering at a friend’s new wheelchair. It reminded us that Danny is still waiting for a family to bring him home, and we wanted to share these cute photos and update our readers on his progress.

Danny’s Latest Accomplishment

Big news in Dingxi…Danny is potty-trained! Most parents are understandably thrilled by this development.  However, since Danny is still waiting for his family to choose him, we thought we’d share this news with our readers so they could cheer him on. Way to go, Danny! From that adorable little smirk on his face, Danny looks pretty pleased with himself as well.

Darling Danny from Dingxi

My name is Danny. I am just two years old, am happy, and am loving life…despite the serious face I’m trying to put on for the camera!

I also enjoy an occasional treat from a visitor from LWB’s Nutrition Program.   Snacks really make me happy, and I also love to visit the orphanage director’s office to see if he has left any on the table.

Dingxi Nannies Learn New Therapy Techniques

There are times when humans resemble trees….the more difficult their circumstances, the harder they work to achieve the height of success. Recently, LWB learned that children of the Dingxi Social Welfare Institute in Gansu Province were in need of physical therapy to help them grow strong and achieve better health. Even though several of the children there are afflicted with cerebral palsy, there weren’t trained staff members to help these children.

A Visit to Dingxi

Our China Nutrition Director, Cindy, was able to visit the Dingxi orphanage for the first time recently. Dingxi is in a remote, poor area of China, an hour and half from the city of Lanzhou. Steed, our Dingxi Nutrition Manager, joined Cindy on the visit.
