Adopting a Child With Vision Impairment

Before adopting a blind child, I really believed life would be a lot different once she came home, and it has been, but it hasn’t been her blindness that has held her back. Mason and Cody: From Healing to Home

This week we are featuring two wonderful boys who are soon to graduate from the Anhui Cleft Healing Home after their successful cleft lip repair surgeries. Mason and Cody will be entering our Fuyang Foster Care program and be united with foster families, where they will continue to recover with the love and support that foster care offers.

The boys entered LWB’s Anhui Cleft Healing Home (ACHH) in June 2010. As with many children born with cleft lip and palate, they were both malnourished. They needed to gain some weight before their tiny bodies would be ready to handle the stress of surgery.

Lively, Lovely Lucy

For our Photo of the Week, we’re pleased to feature four-year old Lucy.  Lucy lives with her foster parents and older foster sister, Beth, in our Fuyang Foster Care program. It’s plain to see that Beth dotes on Lucy, and Lucy’s favorite activity is playing badminton with her big sis! In fact, we featured the two foster sisters in a September 2009 blog.  Lucy definitely has a twinkle in her eye and is described as very lively by her foster mother…and also very lovely as well.
