Our Very First Field Trip!

Do you remember the excitement of your first field trip ever? Our children at Believe In Me — Jinjiang just experienced that thrill when they left their orphanage and school walls for the very first time. For the past two years, we have been trying to get these children out on a field trip, but for a variety of reasons it never happened. Then, thanks to the generosity of some loving sponsors and the parents-to-be of Esther, one of our BIM-Jinjiang students, the first-ever field trip was made possible!

Field Trip Fun for Believe In Me Students

Often in our busy lives we forget how amazing and exciting a shopping trip can be. Consider all the merchandise offered from clothing to food. The decisions and choices made between wants and needs, nutritional versus fun food, and keeping within a budget require critical thinking skills and experience. Four fortunate students from Believe In Me –Huainan traveled with their teacher, Kathy, by taxi to a local super store in Huainan, Anhui.

Physical Therapy Camp

So many children in orphanages live with cerebral palsy (CP) and other issues that make mobility difficult. Thanks to Ellen Dietrick, our Physical Therapy (PT) Coordinator and her friend Lisa, an Occupational Therapist (OT), so many lives have been changed this past week as they conducted “Physical Therapy Camp” in Fujian province.

Happy Meals

Recently, an update was posted on our blog about LWB’s earthquake relief projects.  One of these projects was a ten-day summer camp run by HOMES International.  This camp was especially for the earthquake-affected children who had been relocated to Kunming.
