Herakles: LWB’s Featured Child of the Week

Herakles was born in rural Guizhou Province with a heart defect and an intestinal obstruction. Through LWB’s Medical Program, he received life-saving surgery for both conditions.

In August Herakles arrived at LWB’s True Children’s Healing Home (TCHH) in Fujian, where he is receiving one-on-one care from experienced nannies and an on-site medical team. Read more.

Thank You, Camp China NC!

camp china Jay before

My family and I attended Camp China NC for the second summer in a row. This year the camp held a service project on behalf of Love Without Boundaries. The attendees had a grand time putting together raffle baskets to benefit Baby Jay at True Children’s Healing Home (TCHH). Jay had a cleft lip and palate, although we got news of his lip repair surgery right before camp. Read more

Spotlight on Anal Atresia

One of the most common and urgent special needs we are asked to help with is a condition called Anal Atresia (AA).  Many years ago, we had a supporter complain that she shouldn’t have to read “that word” while drinking her morning coffee, so for quite some time we actually would say that a child had an emergency intestinal issue instead.  With so many orphaned children having AA, however, we think it is important for people to understand just what this medical need entails.  We care for many children with this condition at both our Heartbridge and True Children’s Healing Homes, and with proper medical care, the majority of them do extremely well.

Jay: LWB’s Featured Child of the Week

Mighty Jay was welcomed into LWB’s True Children’s Healing Home (TCHH) in Fujian last month, and he immediately treated us all to a big, wide smile!

Jay is two months old and was born with a severe bilateral cleft lip and palate. His condition can prove difficult to care for by busy orphanage staff due to the special time and attention his feeding needs present. TCHH is a perfect fit for Jay, where he has been eating, sleeping, and growing like a champ! Read more.

Frankie: LWB’s Featured Child of the Week

Tiny Frankie was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate and a minor heart defect. It is difficult for a busy orphanage to give cleft-affected babies the extra time and attention they need, especially at feeding time. Frankie was four months old and weighed only nine pounds. He needed help to be able to gain weight and be medically stable so he could have the cleft lip repair surgery that would make eating so much easier.

Frankie as new arrival to healing home

He arrived at LWB’s True Children’s Healing Home (TCHH) in Fujian early this month after a long journey from his home orphanage in Shaanxi Province. Unfortunately, when he arrived, it was realized that he had actually lost weight since the last report. He is now receiving around-the-clock care from dedicated, specially trained nannies at TCHH.
