Celebrate Love: So Many Ways To Help Children In Need

As you may have heard, we at Love Without Boundaries are celebrating our 15th anniversary! 15 years of hope and healing would never have been possible without the support and involvement of our wonderful community. In conjunction with our anniversary celebration, we are offering a special limited edition tee shirt design: Celebrate Love. This is just one way to support LWB, but there are many other ways you can make a difference in the life of a child today.

Meet Our 2017 Cleft Exchange Team

We are excited to introduce our 2017 Cleft Medical Exchange Team! This dedicated group is headed to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in a few weeks for our very first Cleft Exchange in southeast Asia. The Exchange will run from October 16 through October 23. Doctors who donate their time and talents are the heart of any Cleft Medical Exchange. Three doctors going to Cambodia — Dr. Kathy Clinch, Dr. Neil Derechin, and Dr. Chris Tolan, have participated in five LWB surgical trips!

Learning About Uganda Together

As I imagine is the case with many of you who support Love Without Boundaries, I first became aware of LWB when we adopted my youngest daughter from China. They helped to fund her heart surgery while she was a baby in China, and once we brought her home, they provided us with priceless pictures of her.

I wanted to give back to this organization who had given so much to us, and so I have been a volunteer with LWB’s Education program for the past couple years, helping administer the Believe in Me schools. Read more.

Two weeks from today, a team from around the globe will be making their way to China for a united purpose:  LWB’s 2016 Cleft Medical Exchange.

I’ve been volunteering for LWB Healing Homes for over three years now. I spend my days and weeks as part of an international team watching over and making plans for the fortunate little ones who come into care at our Anhui Healing Home (AHH). The ones who don’t enter LWB care are never far from my thoughts, either. I can’t wait to get my feet on the ground and meet children like little Chisholm face-to-face. Read more.

Why I Volunteer: Love In Action

International Volunteer Day was this past weekend, and we wanted to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the over 165 volunteers who make it possible for LWB to do what we do — help and care for orphaned and impoverished children in China.  Sidney, Laurie, and Sandi share their thoughts on why they spend their time and talents volunteering for LWB.

More than once every day I see news come in about the children we are lucky enough to help, and I just have to stop what I’m doing and feel: Feel amazed, astounded, humbled, joyful. I’m often moved to tears, most of the time because my heart is soaring, and yes, occasionally because it is breaking.

Welcome to LWB Community!

Welcome to LWB Community!

My name is Paige Mills-Haag, and as Love Without Boundaries’ Director of Operations I am thrilled to help launch our new LWB Community blog today! We recently decided to combine our two blogs — lifeofgiving and lwbstories — to one central blog source for all things LWB! Our vision for LWB Community is to engage current followers, welcome new supporters, and expand our community across the globe – volunteers, supporters, donors, adoptive parents, and people of all ages who have a heart for serving children. We hope to share inspirational stories as well as the greatest needs of the children, feature our wonderful volunteers who help make LWB’s mission possible, and establish an ongoing conversation with everyone who wants to follow our work in the world.

Volunteer Spotlight: Sheri Russon

Back in 2003, when our work with orphaned children was first getting started, I posted an email to many of the adoption e-lists asking for assistance and ideas on how to bring more aid to the children.
