Timothy, Ready and Waiting!
This sweet smile belongs to Timothy, a young man who was in LWB’s Nutrition program in Deyang, Sichuan Province, in 2007. Timothy received club foot casting through An Orphan’s Wish in Guilin, using the Ponseti method to gently move his feet into proper position. He arrived in August 2009 and was discharged nearly a year later in July 2010. Timothy also has a diagnosis of arthrogryposis. Currently he is six years old and wears an insole in his shoes. He no longer wears braces except for when he sleeps at night.
Timothy now lives with a foster family. His foster mother describes him as “one of the happiest, silliest boy I’ve ever met.” She also told us that he is slowly but surely learning to speak English, and he already understands many words in English. School is enjoyable for Timothy, where he is obedient and well loved by his teachers and peers. We are told he can dress himself nearly independently and walks quickly, although he is not able to jog or run. Legos and cars are some of his favorite toys, and his favorite sport is baseball. Just recently Timothy lost his two front teeth, making his smile extra cute these days!
Timothy’s file is ready and waiting for a match. The adoption agency WACAP is offering a $2,200 grant towards his adoption expenses. While Timothy’s file is not on WACAP’s individual list, they are still advocating for him (see their advocacy website); however, in order to utilize the adoption grant, a family would need to work with WACAP. Could your family be ready and waiting for Timothy?
Love Without Boundaries proudly advocates for adoption but is not an adoption agency. We invite you to contact [email protected] with questions about a child we have featured and encourage you to contact your local adoption agency for more information about China’s Waiting Child Program.
