Working Hard to Put on the Pounds
I wanted to give you a quick update on Tyler, the eight month old baby boy who arrived at the cleft home a few weeks ago dehydrated and very weak. Tyler spent some time at Anhui Children’s Hospital but was later discharged back to the home. He is doing well at the home, and seems very happy to be in a place with so much activity! As you can see from these pictures, the nannies are taking the time to assure that he gets the individualized care he needs, and as much nourishment as his little body can take!
I am encouraged by this series of pictures because Tyler is so intent on following the camera and making eye contact. We know that being held, spoken to, and moving about the cleft home are just as important to each child’s development as adequate nutrition and medical care, and we trust that Tyler, together with his housemates, will receive the very best care possible at the cleft home. Thank you for helping us give children like Tyler hope for tomorrow.
