Zoe: LWB’s Featured Student of the Week
LWB’s Secondary and Higher Education (SHE) Program helps make dreams come true. We help students in China who excel in their classes but whose family circumstances prevent them from being able to afford the financial cost of continuing their education. Our SHE program provides tuition, books, and living expenses for students in middle school, high school, and college programs.
Zoe is a student who did well in her middle school class, and she hopes to continue her studies in high school if she can obtain financial support. She lives with her mother and sister.
Sadly, Zoe’s father died of liver cancer in the spring of last year. Because of her father’s medical treatment, her family owes a lot of money they are unable to repay. Zoe’s mother works as hard as she can loading and unloading textiles to make a meager income to keep the family going. Unfortunately, they have no money to support Zoe’s education.
As many of our children head back to school this fall, wearing the latest in shoes and carrying new backpacks filled with fresh notebooks and the distinct smell of newly sharpened pencils, Zoe is hoping with all her might that she simply gets the chance to go to school. If you would like to help make Zoe’s dream of being a high school student this year come true, your monthly donation of $20, or your one-time donation in any amount, will make a real difference in Zoe’s and her family’s lives. Sponsors will receive quarterly updates and photos and will have the chance to send letters of encouragement to this special young woman.
